got a little story for you..
Two years ago, I took a big leap into the unknown.
I'd been involved in the internet since 1995 - my Marketing Magic
website,
one of the first marketing sites in the UK - went live
in that
year.
And the seeds of my "Marketing Update" newsletter were
sown in 1999, with just a handful
of subscribers.
So, after ten years dabbling part-time with internet
marketing, I took the plunge and, on 1st April 2005 I started to devote my
energies full-time to
building my online business.
I had to go from just making some useful holiday spending money to generating
a full-time income. And I was determined that, as soon as possible, I would
earn as much as I had in my full-time job as a professional webmaster.
Like so many other people, I'd paid for, downloaded and read countless eBooks,
reports and courses telling me how to make it big in internet marketing.
And, also like so many people, I was disappointed with the results. Yes, I'd
got quite a lot of useful information and I was continually learning - both
from my own mistakes, and from other people's successes.
It was a couple of months after I'd started
full-time internet marketing that I started to pay attention to what a lot
of people were saying about a course called "You
Can! Make Your Living Online!",
developed by a guy called David Vallieres. It was getting praised by all sorts
of people - and not just marketers wanting to make a quick buck from affiliate
commissions.
I looked at David's sales page. Not a pretty one, but it was refreshingly
light on the B.S.! And I read that David had started internet marketing, like
myself, in 1995, but he took the plunge faster then me, and went full-time
in 1999. So he was quite a few years ahead of me.
He came over as an honest guy, so I gritted my teeth and paid out $297 for
his course. It was a big investment for me when I was only a few months into
my new full-time career as an internet marketer.
Of course, having paid so
much for it, I wasn't going to waste the course, and over the next few weeks,
I concentrated in going through each of his six lessons (there are seven now),
reading the material, listening to the audios, watching the videos and going
through the downloadable resources, which are part of the course.
I learnt a lot!
I can honestly
say that David Vallieres' course has made a HUGE difference
to my online business:
- I learnt a lot about copywriting (and I've been in selling and marketing
all my life!). One simple truth has changed the way that I write sales letters.
