Another Free Webmasters Tool From Ian Traynor
Webmistresses can use it too :-)

Ian Traynor

Hi! Ian Traynor here!

I'm trialling this free tool to see if it's worth adding as a resource in the Download Library.

The tool generates a neat Flash top navigation bar to your website. To use, simply type in the word(s) you want to appear on each button, and the web page that the use goes to when they click on the button.

If all your pages are in the same folder, just enter the file name. If not, you'll need to figure out the path to the file.

I find that the colour selection is a bit hit-and-miss! You might need to experiment a few times. You'll see a preview of your nav bar when you click the "Create" button.

You can also choose one of three styles of Flash buttons to use.

You should be aware, however, that search engines can't always read Flash, so your site might not get fully indexed - and some browsers struggle with Flash.

Also, people with visual disabilities, using screen readers, won't be able to navigate round your site if you only provide Flash navigation.

However, you can have the best of both worlds if you additionally provide your website visitors with a simple text-only navigation bar.

I'd appreciate any feedback on this tool. Email me at support@tka.co.uk
